Digital Church Survey
The Diocese of Manchester has created a survey template that is available for churches to use to help them better understand the digital landscape of their congregations, and balance online and in-person worship as coronavirus restrictions ease and life returns to some kind of normality.
How to Download the Survey Template
The survey template can be downloaded in two formats:
* requires a free Google account
- You can also download our comprehensive walkthrough document, which gives you an illustrated walkthrough on how to download the survey.
- We have also filmed a short video on how to edit and share the survey both in print and online. Watch the video here
On Sunday 31st July, Revd Simon Cook, the newly appointed Area Dean of Bolton, spoke to Mike Shaft on BBC Radio Manchester to talk about the Digital Church Survey. You can hear a snippet from the radio broadcast on our Twitter here:

Revd Simon Cook Said:
"The idea of the survey is really in recognition of all of the good work that has gone on over the pandemic. When we were locked down and in particular when we were shut out of our churches, it became really important to find new ways for churches to access and get in contact with people that they really care about, and also making sure that people in the wider community were being supported too.
And that took all sorts of forms, from live stream services on Facebook or Youtube Channels, to Bible Study or Fellowship Groups over Zoom, or even Messy Church in secure WhatsApp groups. All of these things have made a massive difference to people's lives, and this is an opportunity for us to stand back as we are coming out of the restrictions and just reflect on how we can learn for the future what we want to keep, what we want to put resources into, and maybe what we want to do some training for as well."
