Over the next five years our objectives are to:
Ensure Generosity and Thankfulness is a core message in our diocese and is openly talked about. The Self Assessment toolkit is a great place to start with this.
Provide a variety of materials to enable churches to teach people of all ages why this is important. The national Generosity Learning Hub has some great teaching materials. Further resources will be available from our diocese soon, including for church schools.
Help churches communicate to their communities why giving is needed and encourage church members to review their giving once a year
Help churches thank people for their support and explain the difference giving is making. The Parish Resources website has some good materials to help you develop and engage your supporter base.
Inspire churches with the successful experiences of others. Keep an eye on our news pages for encouraging stories.
Create a network of ‘giving buddies’ who will walk alongside to provide support and encouragement
Assist churches so they can successfully use new donation and payment methods. See our Guide to donating and fundraising digitally in your church
Introduce a Regular Giving Initiative (RGI) scheme which increases giving year on year. This is available through our Gift Aid Lite scheme.
Increase the number of people leaving gifts in their wills to support churches. See our legacy page.
Support churches working with other organisations to meet the ‘common good’
