Going for Gold: An Eco Church Fieldtrip

To inspire us on our eco journey, join us for a fieldtrip to Christ Church, Toxteth Park in the Diocese of Liverpool on Saturday 26 November (1pm - 4.30pm). Christ Church have achieved a gold eco church award, and we will hear about the journey they have taken, from registering for eco church to bronze, silver and then gold.

We will be shown the church grounds and the eco innovations that are in place, as well as holding dialogues about what we can learn from each other for our own eco church journey. We want to support you in considering how worship and teaching, buildings, land, community and global engagement, and lifestyle can be oriented to respond to climate change.

Registration is free. We will take packed lunches with us. Our hosts have asked that we take vegetarian food, which is something they have adopted as part of their eco work. Travel is independent, but we will explore car-pooling and public transport options for those who register, so register early!

Register via Eventbrite.

It's been announced that a train strike is scheduled for Saturday 26th November.  Opportunities to travel to Liverpool by public transport are now limited, but carpooling is still an option.

If you are able to offer a lift or are in need of one, please post your offer or request on the Eco Diocese Facebook Group so that we can put people in contact with each other.

For more information contact Revd Grace Thomas and Revd Clive Hamilton, your Diocesan Environmental Officers (DEO).
