Special services at Manchester Cathedral

Special services are being held at Mancehster Cathedral over the coming days to mark the death of HM the Late Queen and provide an opportunity for people to come together to mourn.

Sunday 18 September

A Requiem Mass giving thanks for the life of The Queen will take place at 10.30am.

A Civic Service of Thanksgiving will take place at 2.30pm. A tribute will be paid by Bishop of Manchester David Walker. All are welcome to attend.

Monday 19 September

Members of the public are invited to watch a live stream of the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on large screens in Manchester Cathedral. The funeral will begin at 11am and the Cathedral will be begin streaming coverage of the build up from 8am.

Manchester Cathedral’s bells will also ring out before and after the funeral service.

*PLEASE NOTE* Rountine bag checks will be carried out before Sunday's Civic Service and the screening of the state funeral on Monday. Anything larger than an A4-sized bag is stricty prohibited.
