We are delighted that the Revd Canon Rachel Watts will join our diocese as Director of Vocations on Wednesday, 11th December. Rachel, who has been serving in the Diocese of Peterborough, brings with her a wealth of experience in vocations and leadership roles.
We are looking forward to offering Rachel a warm welcome during a special service of Choral Evensong at Manchester Cathedral on Sunday, 15th December. Rachel will preach and be licensed to her new role by Bishop David.
During the service, Canon Phillip Blinkhorn will be admitted to the Order of William Temple in recognition of his dedicated service to our diocese spanning almost five decades, including his long-standing role as Chair of the Diocesan Board of Finance.
We invite you to come along and mark this special occasion with us. The service starts at 5.30pm and refreshments will be served afterwards.
