Following the implementation of the new Diocesan Boards of Education Measure 2021, nominations are invited for membership of the Manchester Diocesan Board of Education which all members of Deanery Synods (who are not also required to be a member of Diocesan Synod) are eligible to stand for nomination/election.
In all cases, nominated candidates will require a proposer and seconder who MUST be a member of Diocesan Synod (and a member of the same Synodical House as the nominee) and the proposer and seconder are also required to be from the same Archdeaconry as the nominated candidate. If there are more nominations received than places available on the Board then an election will need to be held in accordance with the published timetable as illustrated on the Nomination and Election Process document. A list of current Diocesan Synod members can be found in the diocesan directory.
Please ensure that you read all content very carefully before submitting a nomination; you are also required to provide a ‘pen portrait’ to aid your nomination (of no more than 250 words).
Nomination forms must be received by the submission date of: 5pm on Wednesday, 20th July 2022 in hard copy format only and containing the respective signatures of the nominated candidate and both their proposer and seconder. Nomination forms received electronically will be deemed invalid. A nomination form and pen portrait form in word format can be downloaded here to enable candidates to type into the respective documents.
