Data Developments, a financial software provider to churches, has organised a series of free Treasurer and Gift Aid training courses. These weekly sessions are run by past and present Gift Aid Secretaries to spread good practice, improve reporting and help volunteers make the most of their roles. These courses are open to everyone, not just Data Developments software users.
Treasurer training runs from 3rd – 24th June, and will look at:
- Fund accounting and the different types of funds
- The role of the treasurer and best practice
- Financial controls, what are they and why are they needed
- Yearend preparation and the Independent Examination
The Gift Aid and GASDS course runs from 11th – 25th June and will look at:
- Gift Aid and what to do to claim it
- What money can and can’t be claimed on
- What GASDS is, why is it different to Gift Aid and how can it be claimed
