Giving, Generosity and Thankfulness training day

Date: Friday, 25th October 2024

Time: 10:30 - 15:30

Venue: Online, or in person at St John's House, Bury

Book your place: Giving, Generosity and Thankfulness training day

This training day aims to inspire the development of Giving, Generosity, and Thankfulness as part of the mission of every church across our diverse diocese. Some fantastic speakers have been recruited to deliver sessions to support churches in increasing legacy giving from their congregations and teach them how to successfully apply for financial support from two grant funders who specialise in working with churches and Christian charities.

Session 1 - Inspiring legacy giving - Faith Will

What will the session cover?

Christian Aid is working alongside the Church of England, the Church of Scotland, the Quakers, and the United Reformed Church to encourage people of faith to remember their own church and Christian Aid in their Wills. This ecumenical legacy campaign is the first of its kind and is designed to help make it easier to talk about legacy giving in church. In this session, a range of free resources and tools from Faith Will will be shared, along with ideas to help you start legacy conversations in your church.

Whether you are looking to repair your roof, install a kitchen or accessible toilets, clear asbestos or simply need help undertaking regular essential maintenance to your building, they offer a range of grants to suit the size and needs of your project. The Trust also has a special Cherish grants programme, created especially to help places of worship in North West England (Cumbria, Lancashire, and Greater Manchester).
