Each year, a special service at Manchester Cathedral is held to remember people who have died through homicide. It is compiled, led and voiced entirely by people who know at first hand this unique form of bereavement. The heart of the service is an act of memorial. Names are read out and candles lit.
The whole event is a reflection of the love each family holds for those whose lives were cut short. This year, there will also be music from the Accord Inspirational Gospel Choir, as well as poems, hymns, readings, songs and prayers chosen entirely by the people who take part. It takes place on Friday, 25th October at 7.30 p.m. in Manchester Cathedral. Refreshments follow.
If you would like a name to be read out, please contact The Revd Canon Steve Williams on 07757 411 377 or by email st.gab.prest@gmail.com.
