The Revd Karen Slayen is to retire as Curate SSM at the benefices of St Mary the Virgin, Leigh, and St Peter and St Paul, Westleigh. Her last day in office will be the 2nd February 2025.
The Revd Roger Dixon has been appointed Retired Clergy Officer in the Diocese of Manchester.
The Revd Sue Spencer is to retire as OLM Curate in the benefice of Middleton and Thornham.
The Revd Darren Quinlan, currently Curate of St Chad, St Mary and St Edmund, Rochdale, and Deeplish and Newbold, will be transferring his curacy to the benefice of Oldham and Werneth.
The Revd Tracy Marshall, currently Team Rector of Hindsford with Howe Bridge Benefice, Atherton has been appointed Rector of Croston, Bretherton and Mawdesley Benefice in the Diocese of Blackburn.
The Revd Lydia Taylor, currently Curate of St Mary the Virgin, Haughton Green, will be transferring her curacy to St Martin, Norris Bank.
By invitation of Bishop David, in consultation with Dean Rogers, Canon Phillip Blinkhorn has accepted an invitation to be installed into the Order of William Temple.
The Revd Philip Cansdale, currently Vicar of Trinity Churches, Shrewsbury in the Diocese of Lichfield, has been appointed Director of Mission and Ministry in the Diocese of Manchester.
The Revd Sam Eccleston, currently Assistant Curate of St Mary the Virgin, Bury and St Paul's, Bury, has been appointed as Incumbent of the benefices of Kirklees Valley and St Stephen's, Elton, to be held in plurality.
We share the news that The Revd Fred Cooke died a few days ago, aged 89. His funeral will take place at 1pm on Wednesday, 23rd October at Eccles Parish Church.
