Incumbent: Christ Church, Walshaw & St Andrew, Radcliffe, to be held in plurality
Christ Church Walshaw and St Andrew’s Radcliffe are two distinct benefices in the Radcliffe and Whitefield Mission Community, excited about sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in word, prayer and action in the differing, but linked communities they serve.
This role provides an opportunity to exercise pastoral ministry in semi-rural/suburban, as well as more urban contexts alongside gifted leadership teams in both parishes. It presents opportunities to lead outward-looking congregations excited about discipleship, with a shared love of relaxed and informal worship.
We are looking for an Incumbent with the following qualities:
- An evangelical leader, open to the ministry of the Spirit, who has a vibrant and robust relationship with Jesus that demonstrates deep prayer, and who can offer good and lively biblical teaching and preaching that helps the congregations grow in number and depth;
- Able to exercise strategic leadership that will help each parish thrive whilst leading them into opportunities to work together in fresh and faithful ways in mission and service;
- Able to encourage and enable all-member ministry across all ages, especially among children and young people;
- An open-hearted and compassionate servant-leader with a pastoral heart, in whom others can place their trust and who demonstrates support and understanding for the people of God and the wider community;
- Willing to serve the church and community by using their gifts and skills to exercise leadership in schools, outreach, and other community activities connected with the parishes.
These parishes are at a key time in their ministries as they seek to grow in depth and numbers in ways that richly engage with their local communities, not least as part of Radcliffe & Whitefield Mission Community.
