Incumbent: Hillock & Unsworth

Hillock and Unsworth is a benefice in the Radcliffe and Whitefield Mission Community comprising two churches, St George’s Unsworth and St Andrew’s Hillock, with significant opportunities for mission and evangelism.

The new Incumbent will work with established ordained and lay colleagues in a benefice with a strong desire to work ever more confidently between the two churches. St Andrew’s offers more relaxed worship inspired by the charismatic-evangelical tradition, while St George’s is grounded in the modern catholic tradition.

This role provides an opportunity to exercise pastoral ministry in contexts which have significant opportunities for service, including a community food pantry run from St Andrew’s, as well as a desire for deeper discipleship and fresh ways of engaging children and young people.

We are looking for an Incumbent with the following qualities:

  • A servant leader, who can exercise strong, spirit-led leadership and creative worship, someone who is comfortable with differing styles of worship.

  • A good communicator with excellent organisational skills, who is resilient and persistent.

  • Someone who will encourage those in lay ministry, helping leaders to flourish in their ministry.

  • We are looking for a priest who will preach biblical truths inspired by the Holy Spirit.

  • A prayerful person who will encourage the congregation to pray both individually and corporately.

  • We would expect that our incumbent would take an active part in the Mission Community and the wider church.

This benefice is at a key time in its ministry as it seeks to discern its life and ministry as part of Radcliffe & Whitefield Mission Community.

Please see the Parish Profile, Role Description and Person Specification for full details.
