Incumbent - Christ's Church, Harwood

Incumbent (0.5) - Christ’s Church, Harwood

The Bishop of Manchester and the Diocesan Patronage Board seek a new incumbent for this Evangelical single-church benefice situated in an attractive semi-rural/suburban setting north-east of Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Guided by the benefice’s mission statement - “Inspired by the love of God to seek, serve and transform our community” - we seek someone who will lead and work collaboratively to build confidence, renew hope and model deep pastoral care.

The new incumbent will receive strong support from ordained and lay colleagues as well as an energetic PCC, as the church seeks to build on the good foundations already in place under a leader and teacher who will inspire and support us to join in God’s mission of love and hope in this new season. There is an attractive, well-appointed parsonage near to the church.

We are looking for an incumbent with the following qualities:

  • a person of faith and prayer
  • willing to work with us to release new ministries - both lay and ordained
  • active in encouraging young families and our work in the local schools
  • supportive and encouraging of new disciples and helping us grow deeper in our faith.

We welcome applications from all candidates, noting that the post might work well for a priest also serving in another 0.5 role such as chaplaincy, or who seeks to balance an additional time commitment to research or writing projects, or to family or carer responsibilities.

Please see the Diocesan Statement of Needs, Role Description and Person Specification for full details.

Find out more and apply on Pathways.

Enquirers are welcome to speak to the Ven Dr Rachel Mann, Archdeacon of Salford and Bolton, on 07834 403195 for further information about this post.
