Incumbent: Parish of Leesfield and St John the Baptist, Hey

Incumbent of the parish of Leesfield and St John the Baptist Hey (to be held in plurality).

The PCCs and Patrons are looking for a pastoral and prayerful priest, committed to leading a team of clergy and lay people working to increase numbers, deepen discipleship and reduce social isolation. We seek someone who will want to be part of churches at the centre of village life and look outwards towards the community.

They will:

  • be a person of prayer with a desire to lead a church which is growing in numbers, faith, and community engagement
  • be committed to a strong Safeguarding culture
  • be enthusiastic about work with children, young people and families, both in schools and in church
  • be able to see and encourage the gifts of others, of all ages and stages in life
  • be committed to pastoral care and enabling the pastoral skills of others
  • be able to build up our discipleship and keen to try different kinds of House Groups, from prayer to Bible study
  • be comfortable with a variety of styles of worship, from traditional to new
  • have experience of developing links with the wider local community
  • be secure in an Inclusive Church setting.

We offer a warm Christian welcome to an area where the churches are already part of the community, but we know there are opportunities for further growth and service. Our churches have experienced members in the wider congregation and serving as Church Officers who are able to offer practical assistance. We have a background of working together as parishes and look forward to collaborating with our new incumbent. We understand the pressures of ministry and offer our pastoral support to a successful candidate, as well as our respect for the privacy, time and wellbeing of our Vicar (and if applicable, their family).

Further information is in the Parish Profile, Person Specification, Role Description and Diocesan Statement of Needs. Please contact Lisa Carberry Paterson -  pa@archrochdale.manchester.anglican.org for an application pack.
