Children Changing Places project receives additional funding

The Children Changing Places team has been working with churches and schools across Bolton for the past five years and has been funded by investment from the National Strategic Development Fund. The Diocese of Manchester recently applied for additional funding in order to build on the fruitfulness to date of the Children Changing Places project and reach more schools, children, young people and their families across Bolton deanery and the diocese.

This bid was known as ‘Children Changing Places Bearing Further Fruit’.  We are delighted to share the news that the bid has been approved. The funding will pay for staffing and other costs associated with a project of this scale.

The Children Changing Places Project aims to engage children, young people, and families in activity that creates new discipleship pathways and supports the growth of the Christian faith in schools, parishes, and the home.

A key focus of the project is to build strong links between the home, church, and school, to nurture and encourage a child in their faith, from toddler group or nursery, through primary and secondary education, and beyond. The project team aims to offer support to children, young people, and their families, specifically at key points of transition in their lives, such as new beginnings at primary or secondary school.

The project has received national recognition for the work that it has been doing; this film was produced for Archbishop’s Council with the aim of sharing a little more about the team’s work in Bolton.

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in Children Changing Places to date and are looking forward to continuing our work with children, young people, and families in the diocese.
