The legal age of marriage has increased to 18
We have recently moved into our new offices.
Last week (30th January – 2nd February 2023) Bishop David was the duty bishop in the House of Lords.
On Saturday, a service was held at Manchester Cathedral to bid farewell to Bishop Mark Ashcroft.
In collaboration with St Peter’s House, Manchester, the Council of Christians and Jews is delighted to announce the hire of two new managers for its flagship Campus Leadership Programme, now based in the heart of Manchester’s higher education institutions.
At a meeting this week, Bishop’s Council agreed plans for the refurbishment of St John’s House, Bury, which has been chosen as the new office base for the Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF) and the Diocesan Board of Education (DBE).
The votes for the election of members to General Synod have now been counted and verified.
The diocese has appointed an Independent Reviewer, Suzanne Cottrell, to ensure that safeguarding cases have been identified and dealt with appropriately, in the next stage in the PCR2 process.
The Diocese of Manchester complies with the guidance issued by the Clergy Discipline Commission for publishing notices of penalties imposed upon its clergy.
The Chair of the Board of Finance, Phillip Blinkhorn, sets out the thinking behind the budget for 2020 - 2022. During 2019 it became clear that our diocesan plan, agreed in October 2018, to return to a break-even position by 2021 would not be achieved.
