General Synod is the national decision-making body of the Church of England. Two casual vacancies recently arose in the House of Clergy and elections have been taking place to fill these seats. We are now able to announce that the following candidates have been elected:
- The Revd Canon Donna Williams, Area Dean of Bury and Rossendale
- The Revd Gareth Thomas, St James' Church, Hope and St John's Church, Pendlebury.
Congratulations to Donna and Gareth, they will now serve as representatives of the diocese for the remainder of the life of this Synod. Thank you to everyone who stood for the election and to those who voted.
