Chair of the Diocesan Board of Finance

Canon Phillip Blinkhorn will be standing down as Chair of the Diocesan Board of Finance (DBF) at the end of this year. In tribute to all that Phillip has achieved in the role, Bishop David said,

“I am hugely grateful to Phillip for his wisdom, deep love of the diocese, and personal support for me as bishop, during this last decade and more. He has held the office of DBF chair with great distinction and will prove a hard act to follow.  As he will still be serving for several months to come, we all look forward to thanking him more formally, later in the year.”

Reflecting on his time as DBF Chair, Phillip said,

"It has been an honour and a privilege to have served our diocese as Chair of the DBF.  The personal encouragement and friendship that I have received from so many people in our parishes has been both humbling and affirming.  I am confident about our future, and I know that my successor will have wonderful support from our clergy, laity and diocesan staff."

Canon Blinkhorn will remain as Chair until the end of December. We are now looking for a new Chair of the Diocesan Board of Finance to help us ensure that Manchester Diocese achieves missional and financial sustainability, steering us through the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

This is a key role at the heart of the diocese as it sets strategic direction in support of its mission. We are keen to speak to people who have senior corporate experience, who bring energy and passion for the mission of the Church of England in Manchester, and a generous approach in working across the breadth of its traditions.
