Cornerstone Training Launches to Inspire Generosity and Growth in Churches

This week, clergy and lay leaders from across the diocese came together to take part in the first training sessions for Cornerstone, a new online learning platform created to support churches in growing giving, generosity, and thankfulness. Developed by the Church of England’s National Giving Team in partnership with The Kindness of Strangers, Cornerstone is designed to equip church leaders with an understanding of their own financial situation so they can use the tools provided to nurture a culture of giving and generosity in their communities. The sessions were met with real enthusiasm, and we’re grateful to all those who took part and contributed so positively. Your participation is helping shape how this exciting new platform will be used across our diocese.

Cornerstone offers clear, practical guidance through interactive insights and visual tools, helping churches understand their finances and giving patterns. Users can explore why people give, where growth opportunities exist, and how to take the next steps.

At the heart of the platform are 40 easy-to-follow pathways, step-by-step guides tailored to different needs. Whether you’re launching a stewardship campaign, exploring the theology of generosity, or setting up the Parish Giving Scheme, Cornerstone has practical resources to support you.
