Last Sunday, the sun shone for the commissioning of Focal Leaders in Salford and Leigh Deanery. Taking place at St Mary’s, Irlam, it was the commissioning of the first focal leaders for the deanery and was also the first to take place during an outside service!
Congregations from St John’s and St Mary’s came together to celebrate and share fellowship during the short service led by Revd Rob Jackson. Melda Taylor (St Mary’s Cadishead) and Revd Jean Dodd (St John’s Irlam) were commissioned for focal ministry by Revd Colin Pearson, Area Dean, and presented with certificates by Beverley Angier, Focal Ministry Officer, who also shared a few words during the service.
