Easter and Lent are just around the corner, so if you're looking for support there are plenty of materials available.
This year’s resources from the Church of England have been inspired and informed by the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lent book, Tarry Awhile: Wisdom from Black Spirituality for People of Faith - Selina Stone.
This Lent, we are encouraged to draw on the wisdom of Black Spirituality, particularly the practice of “tarrying” (waiting) as a community to draw closer to Jesus and to each other. Watch and Pray invites us to seek God in both familiar and unfamiliar places: in darkness and in quiet; in movement and migration; in the healing and transforming work of the Spirit; in the weeping of Holy Week and in the joy of Easter morning.
There are printed resources and plenty of digital materials to share with your congregations, featuring eye-catching images such as this one:
If you're looking for a book to read this Lent, the Ven. Dr Rachel Mann, Archdeacon of Bolton and Salford, has also written her 2024 Lent book, 'A Truth Universally Acknowledged, 40 days with Jane Austen'.
