Over Easter, our churches, chaplaincies and schools have been celebrating the joy of Easter in many wonderful ways. From flower displays and Easter egg hunts to community walks and busy services, you can find just a few examples below:
- St Matthew’s, Stretford held a Good Friday joint deaf and hearing service, followed by hot cross buns and refreshments.
- St John the Baptist, Little Hulton hosted an Easter Experience event for 85 local primary school children with help from a grant from the diocese.
- The crowds turned up to take part in the Prestwich and Kersal Churches Together Good Friday Walk of Witness, followed by a service and some well-earned post-walk snacks!
- St John the Evangelist, Pendlebury displayed beautiful Easter artwork created by children from St John’s Primary School.
- St James the Apostle, Milnrow held a packed Easter service for children from Milnrow Parish CE Primary School and their families.
- Holy Trinity Church, Horwich did their traditional ‘Hike to the Pike’, with many people joining the walk up to Rivington Pike in the glorious sunshine.
- Children attending Sunday School at St Peter’s, Ashton-Under-Lyne celebrated with lots of Easter-themed arts and crafts.
- St Luke’s, Salford enjoyed an interactive service where all ages could get involved, along with an Easter Egg hunt with more than 70 eggs given out!
