The Diocese of Manchester has had a link with the Diocese of Lahore, Church of Pakistan, for over 30 years. This link has flourished through visits to each diocese, together with an active linking of schools in both areas.
In 2023 Manchester was visited by a group from Lahore which included the Rt Rev Nadeem Kamran, Bishop of Lahore, and following on from this Lahore Diocese has shared the new diocesan vision for growth in 2024. Their request of us is to pray for them, the vision and God's plans, as they focus on 'Prayer, Presence and Partnership' for this coming year.
In discussing this vision with Bishop Nadeem, the Rt Revd Dr Matthew Porter, Bishop of Bolton, said:
"It's exciting to hear about the refreshed vision of the Diocese of Lahore, emphasising Prayer, Presence & Partnership. Let's continue to support and pray for Bishop Nadeem and the whole diocese, as they humble themselves in prayer, are filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit so they're empowered for everyday discipleship, and partner with others in presenting the good news of Jesus Christ."
