Our second Focal Leadership Focus Day

On Saturday we held our second Focal Leadership Focus Day, focussing on the theme of ‘Working well with others’.

Our focus days give all those who are interested in Focal Leadership the chance to come together to learn and reflect, whether they are part of the focal leadership learning community or simply want to find out more about Focal Ministry.

Libby Greenhalgh led a session on how we can work well together with others, and we also reflected on how focal ministry fits with other roles in church life. Sue Hampson gave an insight into her experience of becoming a focal leader, sharing the joys and challenges of her role and explaining the similarities and differences between her focal leadership and previous role of churchwarden.

The afternoon was filled with workshops which looked at many different themes, including: ‘Working with others in the Community’ (Julie Macauley), ‘Working with others across cultural boundaries’ (David Onabanjo) and ‘Drawing others into leadership’ (Beverley Angier). Each workshop helped us to reflect on how we can better work with others in our wider church roles, in our mission communities, and in our parishes.

Thank you to all who attended and made this such a positive and productive day – we look forward to continuing our ongoing learning together!
