On Friday, Saddleworth’s long-running Whit Friday celebrations saw crowds come in their hundreds to support churches parading their banners and to see brass bands performing.
Bishop Mark Davies, Bishop of Middleton, joined the procession of churches and bands as they marched to Uppermill, where the churches gathered for a collective Act of Worship in King George V Playing Fields.
Later in the afternoon, the famous Whit Friday brass band competition saw bands from around the world perform in villages around the local area. It was a wonderful day - despite the rain!
