On the Feast of the Epiphany, Bishop David has written to clergy, lay leaders and readers.
Bishop David shares a message of love, joy and hope to all this Christmas.
A selection of readings and prayers of thanksgiving, dedication and asking for God’s blessing for same-sex couples can be used in Church of England services for the first time from Sunday 17th December.
Bishop David addressed the House of Lords yesterday during the Autumn Statement debate.
The permanent location for Fabric Church will be Ardwick Barracks, a large iconic building just one mile south-east of the city centre. Priority work is now underway to prepare an area of the premises for worship by January 2024.
Safeguarding Sunday is taking place on Sunday 19th November 2023, and churches in the diocese are encouraged to use their regular Sunday service to explore together what safer places look like, and to thank all those working behind the scenes to make our churches safer for all.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of the Rev’d Canon Donna Williams as Area Dean of Bury and Rossendale.
Last Saturday’s meeting of Diocesan Synod took time to consider our route to Net Zero, our Racial Justice strategy, progress with our Transforming Prayer Community and the Annual Report of the Diocesan Board for Education.
The first focal leaders in Manchester Diocese were commissioned last Sunday afternoon at St Mary’s Rawtenstall. They will carry out their roles in the mission communities of Radcliffe and Whitefield and Rossendale in the Bury and Rossendale Deanery.
On Monday 9th October, the House of Bishops met to agree the way forward for Living in Love and Faith. This letter from Bishop David explains the outcome of these discussions.
