Transitioning from primary to secondary school can be a daunting experience for many children. To help them navigate this significant milestone, we are excited to announce the launch of ‘Beyond’, a resource to equip Year 6 pupils with the tools they need to embark on this next chapter with confidence.
We share the news that the Revd Canon Nick Smeeton, Director of Vocations and Director of Strategy (Mission), has been appointed as Strategy Programme Director in the Diocese of Lichfield.
It will soon be time for this year’s ordination of Deacons and Priests, which will be taking place on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June at Manchester Cathedral.
Yesterday, Manchester City Centre welcomed back the Whit Walks, a tradition spanning 200 years and still going strong today.
On Friday, Saddleworth’s long-running Whit Friday celebrations saw crowds come in their numbers to support churches parading their banners and to see brass bands from around the world performing.
Over 300 portraits were created by the Spirit Blazers and their peers, and displayed on the Bolton Wanderers pitch on Thursday 23rd May.
Last Saturday at Bury Parish Church, 13 participants from around the diocese (plus friends and family) celebrated the completion of their Foundations for Ministry (FFM) course.
On Sunday, churches across the diocese marked Pentecost with traditional Whit celebrations.
