In Rochdale, schoolchildren are leading the way in encouraging local Christians to make changes that help the environment.
On Sunday and Monday, hundreds of clergy and lay ministers from across the diocese joined together for Continuing Ministerial Development days with guest speaker the Rt Revd Arun Arora, Bishop of Kirkstall.
Chaplains are an integral part of life across our diocese, working in hospitals, prisons, educational establishments and more.
A service to authorise and give thanks for lay ministers in our parishes.
The newest church in Manchester Diocese – Fabric Church - held its first service on Sunday 17th September.
A fantastic day was had by all our new Authorised Lay Ministers (ALMs) at their pre-authorisation retreat day earlier this month.
On Sunday 10th September, the installation of canons took place during a truly joyful celebration at Manchester Cathedral.
This special week enables us to thank God for his generosity to us and to also use it in other ways to have the opportunity to think about how we might respond to that generosity.
‘Beating the Bounds’ is an ancient tradition where parishes walk around their boundaries, praying for and asking God to bless the people and work. We seek to echo this in two ‘pilgrim’ walks, linking all the parishes of the Mission Community.
Churches in Mission Community 5, Manchester South & Stretford Deanery, recently participated in an ecumenical ‘The Big Feed’ initiative.
