St John’s and St Paul’s in The Heaton’s kicked off their ‘Songs of Praise’ summer event this Sunday (4th August) with a very special family service at St Paul’s. Both parishes came together to produce a joint service full to the brim with some of the congregations favourite hymns

Last Sunday, the sun shone for the Commissioning of Focal leaders in Salford and Leigh Deanery. Taking place at St Mary’s, Irlam, it marked the commissioning of the first focal leaders for the deanery and was also the first to take place during an outside service!

The Bishop of Manchester, The Rt Revd Prof David Walker is delighted to announce the appointment of the Revd Canon Karen Smeeton as the new Archdeacon of Rochdale. Karen takes on the role following the retirement of the Ven David Sharples earlier this year.
