On Sunday, we celebrated Reader Ministry at Manchester Cathedral. Bishop Matthew Porter admitted ten new Readers and entitled four as Reader Emeritus.
This weekend, Manchester Cathedral hosted three ordination services as the diocese welcomed 14 new priests and 18 new deacons.
With exactly a week before the General Election, Greater Manchester Faith Community Leaders have today issued a statement calling on everyone to exercise their right to vote.
Preparations are now well underway for this weekend's ordination services. This Petertide, 32 people are being ordained in the diocese - 18 as deacons and 14 as priests.
This week, the Diocesan Board of Education has been hosting the Year 6 Leavers' Celebration services at Manchester Cathedral. More children have taken part than ever before, with an incredible 5000 children and staff have attended eight services in just four days!
Diocesan Synod met on Saturday at St John's House in Bury. It began with a joyous session of opening worship led by Canon David Onabanjo, Manchester Diocese’s Intercultural Mission Enabler

On Saturday, Diocesan Synod met at St John's House, Bury. In his opening address, Bishop David reflects on the General Election, outlines five key values that Greater Manchester faith leaders share, and asks Synod to hold those standing for election before God in prayer.
